In this fresco, the 2 artists were inspired by tales and legends surrounding the world of the forest.
The part on the left, which is mainly the work of Lula Goce, tells the story of a bird that has been shot by a hunter. It then becomes transformed a beautiful, gentle young witch surrounded by red balls, symbolising not only blood but also new life.
Fascinated by the fact that the Valais is also home to some incredible animals such as wolves, foxes and birds, Pilpeled painted a fox-bird. He remembers seing this little fox watching him paint and a beautiful black bird with bright white feathers flying in front of his balcony but obviously also at the mural.
LULA GOCE
Born in Galicia, she grew up near the beautiful beaches for which the region is famous. At the age of 20, she moved to Salamanca and graduated from the Fine Arts School, specialising in painting. The competitions and scholarships she entered focused on ephemeral sculptures and paintings, both in public spaces and in museums and galleries. She then transferred her work from the gallery environment to the walls, bringing a fresh perspective to a highly structured graffiti scene, leaving iconic pieces in the streets and abandoned buildings.
Lula then moved to Barcelona where she obtained a master’s degree and a doctorate in art creation at the University of Fine Arts of Barcelona. She studied graphic design at the Pauta Formacio and illustration at the Escola de la Dona. Lula is part of artistic collectives installed in old factories like Hangar, Caminal or La Escocesa in Poblenou. She became a member of the Raw Streetr Art collective and began to develop her technique on the streets and walls of Barcelona.
