Ernest “ZACH” Zacharevic is a Lithuanian-born artist holding degrees from the National School of Arts in Vilnius and the School of Fine Arts at Middlesex University in England.
He combines fine art techniques with a passion for creating art outdoors and Asian culture.
Experimentation lies at the heart of Ernest’s style, with the only constant being the dedication to his ever-changing concepts.
Ernest’s primary interest is in the relationship between art and the urban landscape, with concepts often evolving as part of a spontaneous response to the immediate environment, the community and culture.
For his 80 meter long wall in Aminona, Ernest recreated in traditional animation (stop motion) style a prancing Bambi with a young girl on him. When driving past you can see the movement of the work recreating a vintage style animated movie.
In Ernest’s mind Bambi represents a free animal in its natural surroundings whilst the child embodies joyful innocence.
Ernest lives on the island of Penang, Malaysia.
