Dan Acher (Switzerland) is a Geneva based artist whose aim is to create « Happy Cities »; he is best known for his idea of placing pianos in the streets during the summer, inviting people to just sit and play. This project is very successful. Urban Rodeo is an oversized interactive sculpture, a huge rocking horse – in painted wood. The material relates to trees, forests and mountains. A « home-made » ready-made object animating the viewer to participate, to climb on his back at some 4m from the ground and to rock back and forth, interactive and aware. Like an urban trip towards an imaginary world, in movement but without having to actually move somewhere else, back to childhood in an innocent unconcerned world. A huge toy.
